Planning is well underway for the second stage of Greenvale Shopping Centre incorporating an Aldi supermarket and supermedical centre.
The planning permit awarded by Hume City Council late last year contained a number of conditions which we are working through with council and planning consultants to ensure we satisfy all of our obligations and deliver a product that services the entire community.
We are currently working closely with Coles to relocate and redesign their delivery areas and have commenced discussions on their store refurbishment. Their store sales are achieving double digit growth and they are excited to be a part of the physical growth of the centre. We have been through a tender process and have shortlisted three builders and intend to appoint by 1 July 2016 with a view to commence construction in August.
The proposed centre expansion will include:
- a new 1,500m2 ALDI supermarket with rooftop parking for 62 cars, several new and reconfigured specialty shops.
- a new vehicle entry & exit off Mickleham Road and extended car parking for south-bound traffic.
- a new two level 1,100m2 Medical & Allied Health Services centre on the corner of Mickleham Road and Greenvale Drive.
- the Centre’s new size will equate to 9042m2.
